Music Telethon 2005

Music 2005 Telethon raises $86,000!

The annual fundraising event for the popular elementary After-School Band Program, raised $86,000 over three nights April 19-21st. These funds will go directly to fund the bands for next school year.

With your help, our goal of $100,000 is still within reach. FEF is committed to serving our students with the best possible program. At $100,000 we will be able to ADD more weeks of band classes for the students. We currently fund 24 weeks out of a 37 week school year.

The cost to run the program is $93 per week for each section. There are currently 42 sections of band and 24 weeks of instruction. If this were a for-fee program, at a relatively inexpensive hourly lesson cost of $10, a parent would expect to pay $240 for the school year for each child.

There is no financial support from the school district nor any other governmental source, and there is no cost to any of the children or families who participate in the program -- the program is supported only with donations.
