Toyota awards FEF $129,000 to support the FUSD Educate, Challenge, Inspire education programs.

Background: For the past 20 years, the Toyota U.S.A Foundation has funded K-12 educational programs that focus on the areas of math and science. Since 1991, the Fremont Education Foundation has been awarding FUSD teachers with Innovative Education Grants.  In addition to individual grants, the Fremont Education Foundation has supported innovative programs in math and science at school sites in FUSD when additional funds have been available. Some of the funds have been used for additional science equipment for science labs, math manipulatives, and more.

Current Status:  During the 2010-2011 school year, the Fremont Education Foundation applied for a Toyota U.S.A. Foundation grant.  We are proud to announce that we have successfully partnered with the Toyota U.S.A. Foundation to support the schools in FUSD in the areas of math and science.

Funding will support several educational programs currently implemented at Fremont Unified School District including Everyday Mathematics, Project Lead The Way and Smaller Learning Communities.  The grant will allow the Foundation to purchase SMART boards, calculators, math decks, books, computer upgrades and other student materials.
